A 6th grader in the neighborhood raised enough money to go to Washington DC for some leadership training. As a thank-you for donating, people were treated to a Sunday afternoon cello concert and lunch prepared by her and her parents. She also gave a report out on their slumber party at the Smithsonian, visit to the Vietnam and Korean War Memorial and Harper's Ferry (where they did role playing in period costume). Ah, it was so inspiring to hear her fresh voice and mind learning and doing and communicating. Gave me great hope for the future!
