Well, not much progress on the understanding relativity front. I thought maybe reading sections of Hawking's book out loud might help. I've been looking around the web and there is lots of information there. I liked the following passage from a professor: Sefton-Univ Sydney. At least I take comfort in the idea that it is counter intuitive and maybe a little patience will help.
"Part of the fascination of relativity lies in its contradiction of our deeply ingrained intuitions about the nature of time and space. Some people claim that this contradiction makes the topic too difficult for ordinary mortals to understand, but that’s an over-reaction; all you need is a little knowledge of physics and the patience to work through a logical argument. When you understand the logic you can decide for yourself whether to trust your intuition or your reasoning."
Nice Pictures: My father John McCune Jessup, his sister Margaret Jessup Jarvie, and their cousin George McCune at the McCune ranch reunion June 2011. BTW: Megan Tracy is the photographer in all these family reunion photos.
